What Pictory does well
The workflow makes production legible to non-editors. A writer can control pacing through scene breaks, replace a weak visual, correct on-screen text, and export without constructing a timeline from scratch. Where it falls short
Semantic matching is not editorial judgment. Automatic B-roll can be generic, overly literal, or repeated across scenes. Synthetic narration also needs a pronunciation pass for names and product terms.
